Flowers and jokers

Flowers: eight in the set, and all interchangeable

Flowers are not wild, but they are easygoing: the eight flowers are interchangeable with each other, so any flower counts wherever a hand asks for one. Several hands ask for a group of them.

joker
The joker, the game's wildcard

Jokers can stand in for tiles inside a group of three or more of the same tile. They can't be used for a single tile or a pair, a rule that quietly shapes a lot of strategy.
