Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and Michael Cruz (“we,” “us,” “our”) governing your use of the Mahjee mobile app and the Mahjee website at mahjee.app (together, the “Service”). If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country to consent to processing of your data) to use the Service.

Mahjee Pro subscriptions

Mahjee is free to use, with a limited number of practice drills each day and the full guided learning path at no cost. Mahjee Pro is an optional auto-renewable subscription that unlocks unlimited daily practice, full spaced-repetition review, and future years' cards.

• Options and pricing. Mahjee Pro is offered as a monthly or an annual auto-renewable subscription. The exact price, billing period, and any introductory offer are shown in the app before you confirm a purchase, and may vary by region.
• Billing. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
• Auto-renewal. Your subscription renews automatically for the same period at the then-current price unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Managing and cancelling. You can manage or cancel your subscription any time in your Apple Account settings (App Store → your name → Subscriptions). Cancelling stops the next renewal; the current period is not refunded and continues until it ends. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
• Purchases are processed by Apple. All subscription purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store under Apple's terms; we do not receive or store your payment-card details. Refunds are handled by Apple according to its policies.

License to use the app

We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the Mahjee app on any Apple-branded device that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Where these Terms and that agreement conflict for the app, the stricter term applies. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content and is not a party to these Terms, but is a third-party beneficiary entitled to enforce them.

Intellectual property

The Mahjee name, logo, site design, text, and graphics are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute them without permission, except as allowed by law.

Mahjee is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the National Mah Jongg League or any other card publisher, and any third-party names or marks referenced are the property of their respective owners. Mahjong tile designs depicted on the Service are used for illustrative and educational purposes.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service in violation of any law.
• Attempt to disrupt, probe, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems.
• Scrape, harvest, or misuse data made available through the Service.

Third-party links

The Service may link to third-party sites or services. We don't control and aren't responsible for their content or practices.

Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. When we do, we'll update the “last updated” date above. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any disputes will be handled in the courts located there, unless applicable law provides otherwise.
