Why the top of the card spells out 2026.

Every card opens with hands built from the year's own digits. This year that is 2, 0, 2, 6, and those hands are usually the friendliest place for a new player to start looking.
Note
There is no zero tile. The white dragon, the one everyone calls Soap, stands in for it. So a 2026 hand wants a Soap where the 0 is printed.
It catches out almost everyone once. After that it is the kind of thing you never misread again, which is exactly why it is worth meeting now rather than at a table.
