Look at your tiles and see which hands are within reach.

You start each game with a rack of tiles and no hand chosen yet. The skill is looking at what you hold and seeing which hands on the card are realistically reachable, and which aren't.
Tip
Good players stay flexible early. You'll commit to a hand as the game tells you what's coming.
Reading ahead is fine. The path takes lessons in order, so this one ticks off once you get here.
